Community members rally to help out owners of business fire in Millington

(MILLINGTON) — Community members in Millington are working together to help out the owners of the Sweet Southern Spice Bakery that was destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning. The business and three apartment units above it were a total loss. M-15 thorough downtown Millington was closed as several fire departments battled the blaze. The cause remains under investigation. Bakery owner, Pam Quirk, suffered burns to her arms, head and face as she alerted the residents upstairs of the fire. Authorities say her quick action saved lives. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the owners, Ed and Pam Quirk. A silent auction and benefit dinner will be held Friday, December 18 at the Millington Church of God in support of the Quirk’s and the other families affected by the fire.
