A.C.E Program at Career Center seeking used shoes for those in need

(SANILAC COUNTY) — The Alternative Education Program at the Sanilac Intermediate School District is asking the community to donate used shoes. Shoes of all types and sizes will be accepted and sent to 3rd world countries in Central America and Africa to help those in need. The A.C.E. Program receives money in return for the shoes to put back into the community. The goal is to reach 2,500 pairs of shoes for a contribution toward the playground for special education students at the Maple Valley Special Education Services building, which impacts students from all seven districts in Sanilac County. Collection bins are located at the Brown City, CPS, Cros-Lex, Deckerville, Marlette, Peck and Sandusky High Schools, the Sanilac ISD Special Education Services building, Maple Valley Special Education Program building, the Sanilac Career Center, Chance to Change, Numatics, and the Sanilac County Courthouse in Sandusky. Shoes will be collected through the end of February.
