Authorities: Death of woman attacked by dogs ruled suicide

(PORT HURON) — Authorities say the death of a woman who climbed a fence to get into a Port Huron backyard and was attacked by dogs has been ruled a suicide. Ray Jankowski, an investigator for the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office, says Wednesday that Rebecca Hardy’s death was caused by multiple injuries. Police said the manner of death was determined based on information witnesses provided during interviews. Police had said it was unclear why Hardy, whose fiance lives on the same street, entered the yard. She was attacked last week by a pit bull and a pit bull-husky mix. Three dogs, including a puppy, have been euthanized. The investigation continues and law enforcement officials say they will work with prosecutors to determine whether charges will be filed. Reports say Hardy graduated from North Huron High School in Kinde in 2011.
