(MILLINGTON) — A 9-alarm fire destroyed a Tuscola County business early Wednesday morning. The Sweet Southern Spice Bakery, located in the 8500 block of State Road in downtown Millington was a total loss. The cause of the blaze is still unknown. Authorities say that the owner was able to alert residents in the three apartment units upstairs to get out of the building to safety. M-15 through downtown was shut down as crews worked to put out the blaze. No word on any injuries. Minor damage was reported to the buildings on each side of the bakery.
