Two injured in Speaker Township Crash Saturday

(SPEAKER TOWNSHIP) — Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle crash around 4:19 p.m. Saturday in Speaker Township. According to deputies, 75-year-old Robert Partlo of Yale was traveling south on M-19, attempting to turn east onto Galbraith Line Road, when he turned his pickup into the path of an SUV driven by 31-year-old Scott Bennett of Port Huron, who was traveling north on M-19. Bennett’s vehicle left the roadway and struck two trees pinning him inside. He was freed by the Speaker Township Fire Department Jaws of Life. Both drivers were injured in the crash. Bennett was transported to McKenzie Health System in Sandusky and Partlo sought his own treatment. Witnesses say that speed may have been a factor in the accident. Police say alcohol was not a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.
