Police: Woman dies after dog attack in Port Huron backyard

(PORT HURON) — Police say a 22-year-old Port Huron woman has died after a dog attack in the backyard of a home. Lt. Scott Pike says officers were called to the home at 1721 10th Street shortly before 4:45 p.m. Thursday for reports of a dog attack. The victim, Rebecca Hardy was found with extensive injuries to her face and neck. Lt. Pike says Hardy was taken to Lake Huron Medical Center and transferred to Beaumont Hospital where she passed away from her injuries. A pit bull and a pit bull-husky mix were taken to St. Clair County Animal Control, where they were quarantined. Both dogs are believed to have been involved in the attack. The owner of the dogs is being cooperative in the investigation.
