Ribbon Cutting marks Agri-Valley Services first FiberNet Community launch

(BUEL TOWNSHIP) — Approximately 50 local residents and invited guests were on hand to for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony marking the official launch of the Buel Hill Estates Agri-Valley FiberNet Community, located approximately six miles west of Croswell in Sanilac County’s Buel Township.

“Our teams have worked hard on the infrastructure needed to begin connecting customers,” stated Barb Main, Manager of Agri-Valley Services as she welcomed those in attendance. “I want to commend our outside plant, data & networking and sales teams as well as Gene Clancy and Sons for their dedication to bringing us to the point where we are today.”

Meeting the demand for quality high-speed internet connectivity in a rural setting, Agri-Valley Services began construction on the Buel Hill Estates FiberNet Community several months ago, adding to the nearly 700 miles of fiber optic cable operated by the company.

“Before today, Buel Hill Estates was grossly underserved by internet services providers. High-speed connectivity was basically non-existent,” noted Edwin H. Eichler, President of Agri-Valley Services parent company, Agri-Valley Communications. “An Agri-Valley FiberNet Community provides internet connectivity at 25mb or greater speeds.”

All the Agri-Valley Communications’ companies – Pigeon Telephone Company, Thumb Cellular and Agri-Valley Services (formerly known as AVCI.net) – focus on offering quality ‘big city’ services to rural Michigan.

During the ceremony, Eichler was presented a proclamation for the company’s efforts in the FiberNet Community from U.S. Representative Candice Miller’s (R-10th District). Other public officers in attendance included State Senator Phil Pavlov (R-25th District), Sanilac County 4th District Commissioner James Ruby, Buel Township Supervisor Thomas Durand and Buel Township Clerk Lisa Wood. Buel Hill Estates developer Bob Perry along with Agri-Valley FiberNet Community’s first customer Larry Krist helped Eichler cut the ceremonial ribbon as the guests looked on.

“Today we add ‘Community’ to the FiberNet Business and Farm offerings,” Eichler noted. “Agri-Valley Services looks forward to many more communities in the Thumb area.

Following the ceremony, Agri-Valley representatives were available while guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvre and refreshments.
