Firearms deer season starts Sunday, Nov. 15

(AREA) — The firearms deer season officially kicks off this Sunday, November 15 and will end November 30. Thousands of hunters will be heading to the woods dressed in hunters orange in hopes of finding that perfect buck. Hunters are allowed one deer per kill tag, which costs $20. Resident seniors pay $8. A deer combo with two kill tags costs $40 for residents, $28 for seniors, and $190 for out-of-state residents. The DNR reminds hunter that a base license is required at a cost of $6 for children ages 10 to 16, $11 for residents age 17 to 64, $151 for non-residents 17 and older, and $5 for seniors 65 and older. Archery season resumes December 1-January 1. Muzzleloader season is December 4-13 in the Upper Peninsula and the northern half of the Lower Peninsula and December 4-20 in the southern half of the Lower Peninsula.
