(HURON COUNTY) — The Huron County Sheriff’s Department will conduct a free AARP Smart Driver Course next Thursday and Friday, November 12 and 13 at the Huron County Expo Center in Bad Axe. The course is designed for senior citizen drivers and will cover defensive driving techniques, proven safety strategies, as well as new traffic laws and rules of the road. There are no tests to pass. Upon completion of the course and depending on who the participant’s automobile insurance provider is, yearly insurance discounts may apply. Classroom times are 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. both days. The course is limited to 30 people and interested seniors may call the Huron County Sheriff’s Office during regular business hours at 989-269-6500 to register.
