Deputies investigate roll over crash in Forester Township

(FORESTER TOWNSHIP) — Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the scene of a two-car crash Wednesday morning around 9:42 a.m. in Forester Township. Deputies say 54-year-old Brian Fahs of Deckerville was traveling south on Lakeshore Road near Downington Road when he attempted to pass a pickup driven by 27-year-old Paul Levert of Palms. Fahs told deputies that he believed the Levert vehicle was making a right turn, but he was actually turning left, causing Fahs to strike the pickup. The impact caused the Fahs vehicle to overturn. A passenger in the Fahs vehicle, 81-year-old Betty Fahs of Deckerville, was transported by Sanilac EMS to McKenzie Health System for treatment. A passenger in the Levert vehicle, 26-year-old Michelle Levert of Palms, was transported by private vehicle for treatment. Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident and all involved were wearing their seatbelts.
