Two hurt in roll over crash Tuesday in Sanilac County’s Buel Township

(BUEL TOWNSHIP) — Two teens were injured in a single vehicle crash around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday evening in Sanilac County’s Buel Township. Sheriff’s deputies say 17-year-old David Smeader of Carsonville was traveling west on Harrington Road near Kilgore Road in a pickup truck when he lost control of the vehicle, went off the road, climbed an embankment and rolled the vehicle. The pickup came to rest on its wheels. Smeader and his passenger, 18-year-old Margaret Schieman of Croswell, were transported to McKenzie Health System for treatment by Croswell EMS. Both Smeader and Schieman were wearing their seatbelts and police say alcohol does not appear to be factor in the crash.
