EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) – Michigan State University says the Spartan Marching Band is working with artist Jennifer Wen Ma on its largest, most complex halftime show. The East Lansing school says “The Art of the March: Cues from Sun Tzu’s ‘The Art of War”‘ will be performed when Michigan State’s football team hosts Maryland on Nov. 14.  The lineup includes more than 600 performers, including 300 band members, as well as Chinese instruments. In addition, 1,500 audience members sitting in the east side of Spartan Stadium will be asked to hold cards to form images that will be shown on a screen. Ma is the designer of the 12-minute show. She worked on the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and she’ll host talks the week leading up to the event.
