Port Huron Police conduct underage alcohol and tobacco sting

(PORT HURON) — The Port Huron Police Department conducted a sting operation Monday focusing on underage sales of alcohol and tobacco to minors. During the sting, police sent underage decoys into 32 Port Huron establishments that are licensed by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. Out of the 32 checked, 28 were found to be in compliance by refusing to sell alcohol to the underage decoys and four were cited for selling to a minor. During the tobacco sting, 31 businesses licensed to sell were check and 26 were in compliance. Five were cited for selling to a minor. Authorities commend the establishments who were found to be in compliance for checking ID’s to prevent underage drinking and tobacco use.
