(DECKERVILLE) — Deckerville Main Street Clinic and Deckerville Healthcare Services recently celebrated Medical Assistants Recognition Week, as designated by the American Association of Medical Assistants. Physicians Assistant Lori Nugent noted that Medical Assistants are the backbone of the office. They assure that messages are relayed and patient’s needs are taken care of quickly. Medical assistants are allied health professionals who function as members of the health care delivery team and perform administrative and clinical procedures. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says medical assisting continues to be projected as one of the fastest growing occupations.
