ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) – Detroit Lions running back Theo Riddick has made the most of an opportunity. Riddick leads the league’s running backs with 33 receptions. He set career highs with carries and yards rushing in Detroit’s win against Chicago last weekend. The Lions invested a lot in running backs, drafting Ameer Abdullah in the second round this year and signing Joique Bell to a $9.3 million, three-year deal. They took a sixth-round flyer on Riddick in 2013 out Notre Dame, and he has become a go-to player out of the backfield. Abdullah was benched after fumbling for a fourth time this year against the Bears. Bell missed a third straight game with an ankle injury. The Lions host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
