(LAPEER) — Lapeer County officials have released additional details on the M-24/Genesee Street construction project. On Saturday, October 17, crews are expected to be paving on the east side of M-24, including side streets. Those side streets will be closed down for paving equipment and to let the material cool so it can be driven on. Around Tuesday, October 20, traffic should be ready to move into the middle three lanes, leaving a northbound and southbound lane closed on the outside of M-24. Crews will then button up any work on the outside area of M-24, pave drives and side streets that may need it, and finish any sidewalks. On the 26th of October, the final layer of asphalt will be put down on the west side and may include the center lane of M-24. Milling and paving work on Genesee Street continues.
