Strong bench play leads Pacers to 101-97 win over Pistons

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Reserve Toney Douglas scored 15 points and Glenn Robinson III had nine of his 13 in the fourth quarter to lead the Indiana Pacers to a 101-97 exhibition victory over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night. Andre Drummond had 17 points and 21 rebounds for the Pistons.  Reggie Jackson had 17 points and seven assists. Ersan Ilyasova added 17 points off the bench. Robinson finished 5 of 6 from the floor. The Pacers’ bench outscored the starters 62-39. Chase Budinger made his first appearance of the preseason, scoring seven points on 3-of-7 shooting. All 14 players that entered the game for Indiana scored. Paul George, who was averaging 21 points in 24.6 minutes per game in three games entering Tuesday, scored 13 points in 12 minutes. Drummond, the second-best rebounder in the league last year, now has 48 rebounds through four preseason games. Indiana visits Cleveland on Thursday. Detroit is on the road Wednesday at Chicago.
